FreMon Scientific - based in San Diego, USA - was demonstrating ZipThaw, its portable blood thawing device. The company aims to render the process of thawing blood in hospitals more efficient and to reduce waste.

Leltek

Taiwan-based company Leltek was showcasing LeSONO, a portable wireless ultrasound device. Although the image quality is not as clear as with traditional ultrasound machines, the company clarified that the aim is not to replace ultrasounds.

Natus

Natus (formerly Otometrics) has developed Otoscan, a 3D digital ear scanning device. It scans the inner ear to generate a 3D virtual model. It is for sending to hearing aid manufacturers in order to build bespoke hearing aids for patients with hearing loss.

TensCare

IDTechEx spoke to TensCare, a company based in the UK that manufactures electrical stimulation devices for drug-free pain relief, incontinence and other applications.

Sonavi Labs

IDTechEx spoke to Sonavi Labs at Arab Health 2020. Sonavi Labs developed a digital stethoscope called Feelix. It is a digital screening and diagnostic device for respiratory conditions.

LKC Technologies

IDTechEx caught up with LKC Technologies. Its RETeval device assesses the health and function of the retina as well as the optic nerve and other pathways between the brain and the eye.

eKuore

IDTechEx interviewed Ekuore, a medical device company that developed a digital stethoscope called eKuore Pro. It records heart and lung sounds and analyses them using the company's proprietary algorithms.

LivAssured

IDTechEx analyst Nadia Tsao spoke with LivAssured CEO Jeroen van den Hout. LivAssured is a Dutch company that has developed the NighWatch, a wearable for detection of epileptic seizures during sleep. LivAssured was founded in 2013 as a spin-off from academia. The NightWatch was launched in 2018.

Repuls

Repuls - a medical device company headquartered in Vienna, Austria - developed a LED-based product for drug-free pain management. It uses near infrared light to reduce pain and stimulate tissue regeneration without using heat.
