Sakti3 is a company developing solid-state batteries. They were founded in 2007 by current CEO Dr. Ann Marie Sastry, who was then a professor at the University of Michigan. Sakti3 was recently acquired by Dyson for $90m.

NOHMs

NOHMs is a start up that develops lithium sulphur battery technology. Their technology was originated in Cornell University. The company's CEO and lead researchers are all Cornell alumni. Whilst the company is known for their Li sulphur battery technology, which promises double the energy density of Li ion batteries, they are also commercializing an ionic liquid electrolyte technology which they claim can increase by 20-30% of Li ion battery technnologies.

Sarvint Technologies

Sarvint Technologies are a small company from Atlanta, Georgia. They hold two key patents around smart clothing and sensing, and came to the attention of the industry when they filed multiple parallel IP infringement claims against all of the players in the US with these products. They have now gained $6m Series A funding of their own, and will release a smart clothing product with biometric sensors in Q1 2016.
